1979 > The company is established by Ms. Grazia Valentini as GVS S.r.l.. The company initially produces filters for medical applications, especially for blood processing.
1983 > The automotive division is set up and a second production plant opened.
1990 > Opening of the third production plant.
1993 > Opening of a subsidiary in Belgrade, BGB Italiana, to cover all the ex-Yugoslavia market.
1995 > GVS obtains ISO 9001: 1994 Quality System Management Standard Certification.
- A subsidiary is opened in Buenos Aires to cater to demand from the South American market.
1997 > GVS obtains QS 9000 and AVSQ'94 Certifications, two quality system management standards governing the automotive sector.
1999 > Setting up of GVS do Brasil and opening of a new factory at Monte Mor, Sao Paolo, Brazil, acknowledged by the local national media as one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities throughout South America.
2000 > Opening of the Group's new head-offices in Bologna, covering twice as much space as the previous.
2001 > Change-over from GVS S.r.l. to GVS S.p.A., a different and more suitable legal set up to best sustain future growth.
2002 > Opening of a sales office in Shanghai, China, and start up of a trading partnership in Tokyo, Japan.
2003 > Construction and opening of the fourth production plant in Italy, GVS SUD, in Manocalzati (AV)
Opening of the new branch, GVS Filter Technology Inc., in Indianapolis, U.S.A.
GVS obtains ISO 9001: 2000 Quality System Management Standard Certification.
2004 > Opening of a new branch in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Production gets into full swing at GVS SUD.
2005 > In the U.S., GVS Filter Technology Inc. takes over new production facilities and moves into new premises, opening a sales office in Detroit for products aimed at the automotive industry.
GVS obtains ISO/TS 16949: 2002 certification, a new quality system management standard governing the automotive -sector, and ISO13485 certification, a quality system management standard governing the medical sector, as well as authorization for CE marking of its medical products according to E.U. Directive 93/42/EEC.
2006 > Opening of GVS China's production facilities for the manufacture and sale of GVS products out of Shanghai in the People's Republic of China.
2007 > Brazil: Doubling of production capacity with new Plant
China: 100% Acquisition of Local Chinese JV (medical)
2009 > Spain: Acquisition of GEMA MEDICAL, Laboratory Filtration
GVS Italian headquarters successfully achieved UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 certification for its Environmental Management System (EMS)

GVS obtains ISO 9001: 2008 Quality System Management Standard Certification revision
